Yellow Curry and Rice

The past 5 weeks have been a whirlwind!  I mean CRAZY busy with so much good stuff going on!!

One of the best things this last week was the opportunity to continue to build trust with the Chief of NML and show the people living inside NML that we care and love them.  For the first time we were able to feed over 300 people.   We cooked up a storm of Yellow Curry and a ton of rice!!

Here are some photos:

So many potatoes to clean, we ran out of sinks! Tub it is

Chopping up onions and potatoes

This little beauty slept through all of the work…I think I’ll try this tactic next time! ha

We also ran out of places to chop…side table in the living room will do juuuuuust fine.

25 Kilos of chicken!

    • oh they recognized me alright…they actually told me to go buy a new longyi because they see me wearing the same one day after day. HAHA, I thought I was being smart, but they just think I’m dirty! I got a kick out of that 🙂

  1. I’ve been reading some of Mother Teresa and she talks about her only goal is to truly care and love the poor she walked among. It’s so cool to see you deeply and truly caring for these people. Only this has the power to change things. Amazing.

  2. Alexandra, I love the stories and photos you send and that you keep us informed of what’s going on in your life and ministry. This helps me feel a bit involved in this amazing Kingdom work. It also lets us get a bit of idea about your team and what it takes to feed 300 people. Was 300 enough meals to feel everyone in NML?
I’ve had a thought. No pressure here, just pray about it. Are there any products that are sold from the bridge, or elsewhere, that you could bring or send here to sell to help the people or your ministry to bring increase the cash flow?
His mercy and grace follow you,

    • This is a wonderful idea actually! There are so many wonderful hand made things near the border at a market that I could definitely bring home with me to sell!

And I believe 300 meals did the job! There are more kids than there are adults, and I believe everyone got fed!!!
